Restoration workshop on Stella One Design: January 2014

Those of you who've been following our blog on  www.westcorkboats.com are probably already familiar with our ongoing restoration of Happy Return, a 1961 clinker built Stella One Design. The project offers a huge variety of interesting work - an excellent opportunity to teach a whole range of boatbuilding skills.
For 2014, we are planning a series of short workshops giving participants the opportunity to learn the details of professional boat restoration and boatbuilding.

Rui has just built a new shelter
and scaffolding around Happy Return
to cater for a safe and comfortable
working environment

The first workshop is planned to take place on the 24th, 25th and 26th of January, depending on numbers and date preferences ( contact us asap to tell us when suits you best: ruiandanke@gmail.com tel: 0868243073 )
Skills to be covered include:
Clinker planking: fitting sheer planks
Deck construction: fitting deck beams, making and fitting knees
Planning and laying out a swept deck.
